Bénéficiant désormais du soutien de la DRAC des Pays de la Loire, le Festival Musical Durtal passe commande de nouvelles œuvres à des compositeurs de notre temps.

The Festival Musical Durtal launches a musical composition for piano solo competition
After completing its eighth edition, the Festival continues its goal to support classical music and make it accessible to all.
In recent years, an additional focus on education with musical workshops and concerts of all levels has been instaured.
For the first time, this award is funded by DRAC des Pays de la Loire,
Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles, regional departement of the french Ministry of Culture.
An international competition is launched at the end of 2022 with the commissioning of a new work for piano solo.
The winning solo work will be premiered during the 2023 Festival Musical Durtal by WSL MASTERCLASS pianists
directed by Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy, which is held every summer during the festival.
The young pianists participating in these masterclasses are chosen from among the best of their generation worldwide.
They will be coached in the presence of the winning composer, giving the premiere during one of the Festival concerts
in the Saint-Léonard Chapel of the Bout du Monde complex. Steinway D grand.
The recital will be recorded for the Festival Musical Durtal archives.
